Event Description
Joel Mokyr of Northwestern University will join us for a seminar Saturday, December 6th on the development of culture and economy.
Joel Mokyr is a renowned economic historian. He has worked as the editor in chief of the Oxford Encyclopedia of Economic History, and has published numerous works, including:
- The Lever of Riches: Technological Creativity and Economic Progress
- The Enlightened Economy: An Economic History of Britain 1700–1850
- The Gifts of Athena: Historical Origins of the Knowledge Economy
and many others. He is currently the Robert H. Strotz Professor of Arts and Sciences at Northwestern University.
