Lorraine Pangle is co-director of the excellent Thomas Jefferson Center for
the Study of Core Texts and Ideas at the University of Texas at Austin. She is a
political theorist whose interests include ancient, early modern, and American
political thought, with particular interest in ethics, education, and problems of
justice and moral responsibility. Her publications include Virtue Is Knowledge:
The Moral Foundations of Socratic Political Philosophy; The Political Philosophy
of Benjamin Franklin; and Aristotle and the Philosophy of Friendship.
