Event Description
Join us for a free seminar on Lincoln’s presidential writings with noted historian Gary Gallagher of the University of Virginia.
Registration for the seminar is free and open to the public. However, because capacity is limited, advance enrollment is necessary. This will be done primarily on a first come, first served basis. Readings will be distributed in advance to participants, who will be expected to read them and participate actively in the discussion. A pizza lunch will be delivered at the end of the seminar. To enroll, please e-mail Professor Daniel Lowenstein at lowenstein@law.ucla.edu
Gary Gallagher is a professor of Civil War history at the University of Virginia. He has authored a number of books on the Civil War, including:
Becoming Confederates: Paths to a New National Loyalty
The Union War
Causes Won, Lost, and Forgotten: How Hollywood and Popular Art Shape What We Know about the Civil War
