Event Description

In addition to this seminar, Woody Holton will be giving a lecture entitled, “Washington Schlepped Here: How George Washington Admitted an Error and Wont he Revolutionary War” on April 13. For more information on this lecture, please visit the event page.


Registration for the seminar is free and open to the public. However, because capacity is limited, advance enrollment is necessary. This will be done primarily on a first come, first served basis. Readings will be distributed in advance to participants, who will be expected to read them and participate actively int he discussion. A pizza lunch will be delivered at the end of the seminar. Woody Holton is the McCausland Professor of History at the University of South Carolina.


He teaches early American history, especially the American Revolution, with a focus on economic history and on African Americans, Native Americans, and women.
