Event Description
In addition to this seminar, Barry Shain will be giving a lecture on November 17 entitled “The Tragic American Revolution and the Accidental Republic.” For more information on this lecture, please visit the event page.
Registration for the seminar is free and open to the public. However, because capacity is limited, advance enrollment is necessary. This will be done primarily on a first come, first served basis. Readings will be distributed in advance to participants, who will be expected to read them and participate actively in the discussion. A pizza lunch will be delivered at the end of the seminar. To enroll, please e-mail Professor Daniel Lowenstein at lowenstein@law.ucla.edu
Barry Alan Shain is an assistant professor of Political Science at Colgate University and the author of The Myth of American Individualism: The Protestant Origins of American Political Thought.
