In addition to this seminar, Craig Yirush will be giving a lecture entitled, “Dissenting Voices from 1776: Why Islanders, Loyalists, Africans, and Indians Rejected the American Revolution” on February 22. For more information on this lecture, please visit the event page.
Registration for the seminar with Craig Yirush is free and open to the public. However, because capacity is limited, advance enrollment is necessary. Enrollment will be primarily on a first come, first served basis, though preference is given to UCLA students and faculty members. Readings will be distributed in advance to participants, who will be expected to read them and participate actively in the discussion. A pizza lunch will be delivered at the end of the seminar. To enroll, please e-mail Professor Daniel Lowenstein at email@example.com.
Craig Yirush is Associate Director of CLAFI and an Associate Professor of History at UCLA where he teaches early American history. His writings include Settlers, Liberty, and Empire: The Roots of Early American Political Theory, published in 2011 by Cambridge University Press.
