Event Description

In addition to this event, Barry Kraft will be giving a seminar on October 20. For more information on this seminar, please visit the event page.

The lecture is free and open to the public. No RSVP is necessary. Light refreshments will be provided.

Barry Kraft was the very first CLAFI lecturer, back in 2010. There was a reason. Kraft has the rare achievement of having acted in all of Shakespeare’s plays. He has played more than 100 Shakespearean roles. For 30 seasons he was an actor-member of the Oregon Shakespeare Festival in Ashland. He has performed Shakespearean and non-Shakespearean roles at many other theaters, including Berkeley Repertory Theater and the Marin Shakespeare Festival. He is also a scholar of Shakespeare’s plays and served as Ashland’s first dramaturg. Most importantly, he has been Ashland’s most popular lecturer for decades. He has energy, humor, vast knowledge, and an unusual ability to appeal to everyone from the expert to the newcomer to Shakespeare.
