Event Description

Join us for a seminar on Arthur Miller’s play, All My Sons, led by Actor Richard Fancy.

Registration for the seminar is free and open to the public. However, because capacity is limited, advance enrollment is necessary. This will be done primarily on a first come, first served basis, except that some spaces will be held for UCLA students and faculty members. Participants will be expected to read the play in advance and join actively in the discussion. The play can be obtained here, here, or here. A pizza lunch will be delivered at the end of the seminar. To enroll, please e-mail Professor Daniel Lowenstein at lowenstein@law.ucla.edu.

Richard Fancy is an American actor known for his long recurring role on Seinfeld as publisher Mr. Lippman, Elaine Benes’s first major employer on the series. He appeared on the third and fourth seasons of It’s Garry Shandling’s Show as network boss Mr. Stravely. He also plays the Priest in the 1991 Film What About Bob?, and was Kevin Arnold’s high school principal, Dr. Valenti, in the fourth and fifth seasons of The Wonder Years. Fancy also had two memorable appearances in late 2005 on Boston Legal, as a crooked Catholic priest. In addition, he appeared on The Wonder Years and as mob financier Bernie Abrahms on General Hospital from October 20, 2006 to October 22, 2012, and his brother Benny, from 1997 to 2003.

Los Angeles audiences have seen him in numerous brilliant stage performances, including the lead roles in Ibsen’s The Master Builder and Arthur Miller’s All My Sons.
